Vibhūti Yoga · Verse 40

नान्तोऽस्ति मम दिव्यानां विभूतीनां परन्तप | एष तूद्देशतः प्रोक्तो विभूतेर्विस्तरो मया

nānto 'sti mama divyānāṃ vibhūtīnāṃ parantapa | eṣa tūddeśataḥ prokto vibhūter vistaro mayā

There is no end to My divine opulences, oh scorcher of the enemy. This is only an indication of the extent of My opulences mentioned by Me.

Nāntaḥ asti — there is no end — to the divyāḥ vibhūtiḥ (divine opulences). What has been said is merely a sample (uddeśataḥ), not an exhaustive list.

Vistaraḥ — extension, expansion — the vibhūtis are unlimited because the Lord is unlimited. Each manifestation in the universe is, in a sense, a vibhūti.

Arjuna is called parantapa because he must use this understanding in battle: recognize the Lord in everything, especially in victory.
