Rāja-Vidyā-Rāja-Guhya Yoga · Verse 30
अपि चेत्सुदुराचारो भजते मामनन्यभाक् | साधुरेव स मन्तव्यः सम्यग्व्यवसितो हि सः
api cet su-durācāro bhajate mām ananya-bhāk | sādhu eva sa mantavyaḥ samyag vyavasito hi saḥ
Even if one is of very bad conduct, if he worships Me without deviation, he should be considered saintly, for he is firmly resolved on the right path.
The most radical verse about salvation through faith. Su-durācāraḥ — of extremely bad conduct — but bhajate mām ananya-bhāk — worships Me with undivided attention.
Sādhu eva sa mantavyaḥ — should be considered saintly — pure devotion purifies even one with impure past. Samyak vyavasitaḥ — perfectly resolved — indicates his determination is on what is right.
Not that bad conduct is irrelevant, but that the Lord’s grace transforms the devotee. This is the power of bhakti: purifies from the inside out.
