Eseva maggo natthañño, dassanassa visuddhiyā; etañhi tumhe paṭipajjatha, mārassetaṃ pamohanaṃ.

Eseva maggo natthañño, dassanassa visuddhiyā; etañhi tumhe paṭipajjatha, mārassetaṃ pamohanaṃ.

This is the only path, there is no other for the purification of vision. Enter upon it, for this is the bewilderment of Māra.

Eseva maggo natthañño — this is the only path, there is no other: the statement is exclusive and unequivocal. For the purification of vision (dassanassa visuddhi), the Eightfold Path is the only way. There are no shortcuts or alternative paths to the same goal.

Etañhi tumhe paṭipajjatha — enter upon it: paṭipajjatha is a direct imperative. The Buddha does not suggest but commands: enter this path.

Mārassetaṃ pamohanaṃ — this is the bewilderment of Māra: the Eightfold Path is what confuses Māra, what bewilders him. When the practitioner follows this path, Māra loses power over them.

The exclusivity of the path is not sectarianism but diagnostic clarity: as a physician saying “this is the only medicine for this disease”, the Buddha prescribes with precision.
