Dhammapālasaññī bhikkhu, appamādena saṁvuto; Sa ve sītibhūto bhikkhu, bhavābhavaparikkhayo.
Dhammapālasaññī bhikkhu, appamādena saṁvuto; sa ve sītibhūto bhikkhu, bhavābhavaparikkhayo.
The monk with perception of protecting the Dhamma, restrained with diligence; that one is pacified, becoming and non-becoming have ceased.
Dhammapāla — protector of the Dhamma. Not an external guardian, but one who protects the Dhamma in themselves by practicing it.
Saṁvuto — restrained, contained. Restraint (saṁvara) is not oppression, it is conscious containment to not disperse.
