Bhikkhuvagga · The Monk · Gāthā 379

Yo dhammaṁ passati passati, bhikkhu suññatānimittoti; Yo papuṇe virāgañ ca, sā khemaṃ passati bhayaṃ.

Yo dhammaṁ passati passati, bhikkhu suññatānimittoti; yo papuṇe virāgañ ca, sā khemaṃ passati bhayaṃ.

Whoever sees the Dhamma, truly sees; the monk has the sign of emptiness; whoever reaches dispassion, sees refuge and fear.

Yo dhammaṁ passati — whoever sees the Dhamma. Seeing the Dhamma is not reading about it, it is seeing the law of reality in operation.

The Bhikkhuvagga closes with vision of emptiness and dispassion. The monk does not flee the world, but sees it empty and acts without attachment.
