Tṛtīyopadeśaḥ (Mudrā) · Verse 20

महाबन्धो नभो-मुद्रा उड्डीयाणाख्य-कुम्भकः | मातङ्गिनी खेचरी च मूल-बन्धस्तथैव च

mahābandho nabho-mudrā uḍḍīyānākhya-kumbhakaḥ | mātaṅginī khecarī ca mūla-bandhastathāiva ca

Mahābandha, Nabhomudrā, the retention called Uḍḍīyāna, Mātaṅginī, Khecarī and also Mūla Bandha.

This verse goes on to list the main mudrās and bandhas that will be taught in the chapter.Mahābandha — the grand closing — combines the three main bandhas into one intense practice.

Nabhomudrā — the seal of space — directs the tongue and attention to the palate and beyond.Uḍḍīyānākhya-kumbhakaḥ — the retention called Uḍḍīyāna — combines abdominal bandha with breath retention.

Mātaṅginī — also called Gaja Karaṇī — is a cleansing technique that imitates the elephant.Khecarī — the seal of space — is the practice of introducing the tongue into the nasopharyngeal cavity, considered one of the most important and secret mudrās.
