He is an expert in freeing from the great bond of death;it brings about the confluence of the three rivers (triveṇī) and brings the mind to Kedāra.

Kālapāśa — the bond of death — represents the bonds of time and mortality.Mahābandha is vimocana-vicakṣaṇaḥ — expert in liberating from these bondages.

Triveṇī-saṅgamam — the confluence of three rivers.Externally, it refers to Prayāga (Allahabad), where Gaṅgā, Yamunā and Sarasvatī meet.Internally, it represents the union of Iḍā, Piṅgalā and Suṣumnā in Ājñā chakra.Mahābandha facilitates this union of the three main nāḍīs.

Kedāraṃ prāpayen manaḥ — bring the mind to Kedāra.Kedāra is a sacred tīrtha in the Himalayas, but esoterically it refers to the space between the eyebrows, the seat of Śiva.The Mahābandha practitioner raises his consciousness to this supreme center.
