This verse resumes the conditional structure of verses 102–103, now applying it specifically to śakticālana. The phrase evaṃ hi (‘thus indeed’) links back to the technique just described, while pratyahaṃ reiterates the obligatory nature of daily practice. The implicit promise — completed in the following verse — makes this verse a hinge between technical instruction and spiritual result.

The compound śakticālana deserves analysis: śakti (power, energy, the divine feminine force) + cālana (movement, agitation, causative of cal). This mudrā is not merely physical; it is an operation upon the cosmic energy residing within the body. Samācaret, already analyzed at verse 102, reaffirms the idea of complete, orderly execution rather than fragmented effort.

The structural repetition of pratyahaṃ yaḥ samācaret throughout the chapter is not compositional carelessness but deliberate pedagogical strategy. Haṭha texts employ anaphora to engrave in the disciple’s memory that regularity — not occasional intensity — is the true agent of transformation. Sporadic practice, however brilliant, does not produce the promised results.
