जलस्येवोर्मयो वह्नेर्ज्वालाभङ्ग्यः प्रभा रवेः । ममैव भैरवस्यैता विश्ववृत्तीर्विभेदिताः ॥
jalasyevormayo vahner jvālābhaṅgyaḥ prabhā raveḥ | mamaiva bhairavasyaitā viśvavṛttīr vibheditāḥ ||
As the waves of water, as the curves of fire's flames, as the rays of the sun — thus are the universal activities of me, Bhairava, differentiated.
Hundred-ninth dhāraṇā. The ocean and its waves. Jalasyeva ūrmayaḥ — as the waves of water. Vahneḥ jvālābhaṅgyaḥ — as the curves of flames. Prabhā raveḥ — as the rays of the sun. Three metaphors of the same principle.
Waves are not something different from the ocean. Flames are not something different from fire. Rays are not something different from the sun. Similarly, the whole universe is not something different from Bhairava.
Mamaiva bhairavasyaitāḥ viśvavṛttīḥ vibheditāḥ — these differentiated universal activities are mine, of Bhairava. The entire universe with all its diversity is the activity of a single consciousness. Multiplicity does not contradict unity. The thousand waves are a single ocean. Meditate on this until it ceases to be an idea and becomes direct perception.
