शाम्भवीमुद्रा

Śāmbhavi Mudrā

mudra

A sacred mudra associated with Shiva — the tranquil one (śānta). The gaze is fixed inward and upward toward the space between the eyebrows (bhrūmadhya), while awareness dissolves into the [[crown cakra]] ([[sahasrara]]).

Unlike outer gestures, this is an internal mudrā of direct recognition. The eyes remain half-open but unfocused, the mind rests in its own source. When perfected, it leads naturally to samadhi.

Also known as bhrūmadhya-dṛṣṭi or the “eyebrow-center gaze,” it is considered one of the most powerful practices in the haṭha tradition.
