Siddhānta

Siddhānta (सिद्धान्त) is the established conclusion, the doctrine demonstrated through rigorous examination. In the Śiva-saṃhitā, the haṭha-yoga-siddhānta constitutes the corpus of definitive teachings on the bodily-energetic path to liberation. The Upaniṣads employ siddhānta to designate the final truth that emerges from inquiry (vicāra) and cannot be refuted. In the Tantric tradition, siddhānta is contrasted with prakriyā (preliminary method): it is the definitive settlement of the practitioner in non-dual understanding. See jnana, sadhaka.
