Chapter 18 · Verse 21

निर्वासनो निरालम्बः स्वच्छन्दो मुक्तबन्धनः

nirvāsano nirālambaḥ svacchando muktabandhanaḥ | kṣiptaḥ saṃskāravātena ceṣṭate

In chapter 18 (Janaka’s liberation), verse 21 deepens the teaching of non-duality. In Advaita Vedānta philosophy, this verse of the Aṣṭāvakra Gītā reveals that freedom is inherent to the Self and requires no acquisition.
