Chapter 2 · Verse 22
नाहं देहो न मे देहो जीवो नाहमहं हि चित्
nāhaṃ deho na me deho jīvo nāhamahaṃ hi cit | ayameva hi me bandha āsīdyā jīvite
In chapter 2 (Aṣṭāvakra’s instructions on the Self), verse 22 deepens the teaching of non-duality. In Advaita Vedānta philosophy, this verse of the Aṣṭāvakra Gītā reveals that freedom is inherent to the Self and requires no acquisition.
