Tṛtīyopadeśaḥ (Mudrā) · Verse 27

घ्नन्ती तालु मुखे कृत्वा दृढं बद्ध्वा तु जिह्विकाम् | दृष्टिं भ्रुवोर्मध्यगतां कृत्वा चैव तु पश्यति ||

ghnantī tālu mukhe kṛtvā dṛḍhaṃ baddhvā tu jihvikām | dṛṣṭiṃ bhruvor madhyagatāṃ kṛtvā caiva tu paśyati ||

The complete technique: tongue back touching the palate (tālu), gaze at the third eye (bhrū-madhya). This combination is extremely powerful.

“Firmly bound” does not mean tension but conscious maintenance. The tongue is held in contact without excessive effort.

“Then one sees” (paśyati) describes the result: inner vision, experience of subtle reality. The practice opens the third eye, the center of intuition and direct knowledge.
