Ṣaṣṭhopadeśaḥ (Dhyāna) · Verse 9
ध्यानमेवं विधं कृत्वा योगी योगपरायणः | जीवन्मुक्तो भवेद्योगी निर्वाणफलभागिनी ||
dhyānam evaṃ vidhaṃ kṛtvā yogī yogaparāyaṇaḥ | jīvanmuktop bhaved yogī nirvāṇaphalabhāginī ||
Result of the three types of meditation: jīvan-mukti and enjoyment of nirvāṇa. Meditation, in any of its forms, leads to liberation.
“Enjoying the fruit” (phala-bhāginī) — liberation is not deprivation but fullness. It is enjoyment of a peace transcending all worldly pleasure.
The three types of dhyāna are alternative paths to the same destination. The practitioner chooses according to temperament and capacity.
