Ṣaṣṭhopadeśaḥ (Dhyāna) · Verse 8
दीपवज्ज्योतिराकारं ध्यायेद्ब्रह्मपथि स्थितम् | ततो ज्योतिः समालोक्य योगी योगपरायणः ||
dīpavad jyotir ākāraṃ dhyāyed brahmapathi sthitam | tato jyotiḥ samālokya yogī yogaparāyaṇaḥ ||
Technique of Jyotir dhyāna: visualize light at the crown, brilliant as a lamp flame, stable on the “path of Brahman” — the central channel (suṣumnā).
“Seeing the light” (jyotiḥ samālokya) — meditation leads to real perception of inner light, not imagination. It is direct experience of the luminous nature of consciousness.
The yogi “dedicated to yoga” is one who practices without distraction, with total surrender.
