The deluded do not perceive the one who departs, or who remains, or who enjoys endowed with the guṇas; those who possess the eye of knowledge see.

Three states of the jiva: utkrāmat (who departs the body), sthita (who remains), and bhuñjāna (who enjoys, experiences), always guṇānvita — accompanied by the three guṇas of prakṛti.

The vimūḍhāḥ (deluded, confused) do not anupaśyanti — do not see, do not perceive this reality. But jñāna-cakṣuṣaḥ — those who have the eye (cakṣus) of knowledge (jñāna) — do see the jiva in all its states. True knowledge is a faculty of inner vision.
