Śivasaṃhitā 2.32

The compound bhogavahā — «bearer of enjoyment» — reveals a philosophically rich dimension of the nāḍī system. These channels are not merely pneumatic tubes for prāṇa; they are the very medium through which conscious experience becomes possible. Sensation, pleasure, and perception all depend on the integrity and openness of these subtle pathways.

Bhoga carries multiple valences in Sanskrit philosophical discourse: sensory enjoyment, lived experience, and even the «consumption» of karmic residues through embodied life. The second qualifier, vāyusañcāradakṣakāḥ, pairs this experiential function with a regulatory one — the nāḍīs are «skilled» (dakṣa) in managing the movement of the vital airs, suggesting an active, intelligent governance rather than passive conduction.

This verse serves as a conceptual bridge between the network of nāḍīs described in preceding verses and the abdominal fire introduced in the following ones. The smooth circulation of vāyu through competent nāḍīs is the precondition for proper digestive function — a connection that Āyurveda and Haṭhayoga share, locating both metabolic and experiential vitality in the same subtle infrastructure.
