Viśvarūpa-Darśana Yoga · Verse 28
यथा नदीनां बहवोऽम्बुवेगाः समुद्रमेवाभिमुखा द्रवन्ति | तथा तवामी नरलोकवीरा विशन्ति वक्त्राण्यभितोऽपूर्णानि
yathā nadīnāṃ bahavo 'mbu-vegāḥ samudram evābhimukhā dravanti | tathā tavāmī nara-loka-vīrā viśanti vaktrāṇy abhito 'pūrṇāni
As the water currents of many rivers flow toward the ocean, thus these heroes of the human world enter into Your mouths filled on all sides.
The analogy of rivers and ocean. Nadīnām bahavaḥ ambu-vegāḥ — many currents of rivers — all life flows toward one destiny.
Samudram abhimukhāḥ — toward the ocean — the inevitable goal. Nara-loka-vīrāḥ — heroes of the human world — even the great ones.
Vaktrāṇi abhitaḥ — into mouths on all sides — apūrṇāni — already full — yet always receiving more.
This is the cosmic dance of death as part of life.
