Śivasaṃhitā 3.80

The niṣpatti of samādhi svenakarmaṇā — the consummation of samādhi occurring through one’s own action — indicates that at the final stage the yogin has assumed full responsibility for their realization. No external intervention produces it: it is the ripened fruit of work accumulated over years or decades. Svena karmaṇā (through one’s own action) does not exclude the guru’s grace or Śiva’s — but affirms that the yogin has become fully capable of receiving it.

The double affirmation with which the text introduces the promise — satyaṃ satyaṃ, «truth, truth»; or in context: «I tell you in all truth» — is a formula of maximum emphasis in classical Sanskrit rhetoric. The master uses this formula when they want the disciple not to doubt: what follows is not speculation or conditional promise but knowledge verified by the direct experience of the one teaching.

The yogin who presses the tongue (rasanāṃ pīḍyamānāṃ) combined with the prāṇasalilaṃ (vital fluid of prāṇa) never dies: this is the text’s most direct immortality affirmation. In the Śivasaṃhitā’s system, death is the consequence of vital prāṇa exhaustion. Whoever maintains prāṇa in circulation through permanent khecarī never exhausts their vital reserve. It is tantric physics applied to the biology of longevity.
