देहिन्
Dehin
conceptoDehin (देहिन्) is the incarnate one, the dweller in the body (deha). In the Bhagavad-gītā 2.13 it is stated: “dehino ‘smin yathā dehe kaumāraṃ yauvanaṃ jarā — as the incarnate one passes through childhood, youth, and old age in this body, so the wise acquires another body.” Dehin points to the puruṣa clothed in matter, the jīvātman traversing the cycles of birth and death. The Upaniṣads use the term to underscore the distinction between the dweller and the dwelling. See atman, prarabdha.
