Karma-Sannyāsa Yoga · Verse 13
सर्वकर्माणि मनसा संन्यस्यास्ते सुखं वशी | नवद्वारे पुरे देही नैव कुर्वन्न कारयन्
sarvakarmāṇi manasā saṃnyasyāste sukhaṃ vaśī | nava-dvāre pure dehī naiva kurvan na kārayan
Abandoning all actions by the mind, the Lord of himself dwells happily in the city of nine gates, neither acting nor making act.
The city of nine gates. Manasā — by the mind — indicates that renunciation is first internal.
Sarvakarmāṇi saṃnyasya — abandoning all actions — describes not negation but offering. Vaśī — Lord of himself — indicates autonomy. Nava-dvāre pure — city of nine gates — is the body: two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, mouth, anus, genitals (9 openings). Dehī — the dweller in the body — dwells sukham — happily — na kurvan na kārayan — without acting nor making act. Is witness, not agent.
