Vibhūti Yoga · Verse 21
आदित्यानामहं विष्णुर्ज्योतिषां रविरंशुमान् | मरीचिर्मरुतामस्मि नक्षत्राणामहं शशी
ādityānām ahaṃ viṣṇur jyotiṣāṃ raviṃśumān | marīcir marutām asmi nakṣatrāṇām ahaṃ śaśī
Of the Ādityas I am Viṣṇu, of the luminaries the radiant sun; of the Maruts I am Marīci, and of the stars I am the moon.
The specific enumeration of vibhūtis begins. The ādityāḥ — twelve sons of Aditi, solar deities — the Lord is Viṣṇu, the principal.
Jyotiṣām — luminous bodies — raviḥ aṃśumān — the sun with its rays. The marutaḥ — wind gods — Marīci is the principal.
Nakṣatrāṇām — lunar constellations — śaśī — the moon — presides over the 27 constellations.
