Vibhūti Yoga · Verse 22
वेदानां सामवेदोऽस्मि देवानामस्मि वासवः | इन्द्रियाणां मनश्चास्मि भूतानामस्मि चेतना
vedānāṃ sāma-vedo 'smi devānām asmi vāsavaḥ | indriyāṇāṃ manaś cāsmi bhūtānām asmi cetanā
Of the Vedas I am the Sāma Veda; of the gods I am Indra; of the senses I am the mind; of the beings I am the living force.
Vedānām — of the four Vedas — sāma-vedaḥ — the Veda of melodies, chanted by the udgātṛ. Devānām — of the devas — vāsavaḥ — Indra, chief of the gods.
Indriyāṇām — of the ten senses — manaḥ — the mind, which presides over all. Bhūtānām — of all manifested beings — cetanā — consciousness, the spark of life.
The vibhūti is always the principal, the most representative, or the source of the category.
