Vibhūti Yoga · Verse 31
पवनः पवतामस्मि रामः शस्त्रभृतामहम् | झषाणां मकरश्चास्मि स्रोतसामस्मि जाह्नवी
pavanaḥ pavatām asmi rāmaḥ śastra-bhṛtām aham | jhaṣāṇāṃ makaraś cāsmi srotasām asmi jāhnavī
I am the wind among purifiers; Rāma among weapon-bearers; the shark among fish, and the Ganges among rivers.
Pavatām — of those who purify — pavanaḥ — the wind. Śastra-bhṛtām — of those who bear weapons — rāmaḥ — Śrī Rāma of Ayodhyā, incarnation of the Lord.
Jhaṣāṇām — of great fish — makaraḥ — the shark or sea monster. Srotasām — of rivers — jāhnavī — the Ganges, descended from heaven by Bhagīratha’s penance.
The Lord includes His own incarnations among the vibhūtis.
