Viśvarūpa-Darśana Yoga · Verse 3

एवमेतद्यथात्थ त्वमात्मानं परमेश्वर | द्रष्टुमिच्छामि ते रूपमैश्वरं पुरुषोत्तम

evam etad yathāttha tvam ātmānaṃ parameśvara | draṣṭum icchāmi te rūpam aiśvaraṃ puruṣottama

As You have described Yourself, oh Supreme Lord, I desire to see Your divine form, oh Supreme Person.

Evam etad yathā attha — this thus as You say — Arjuna accepts the description. Ātmānam — Your own Self — the personal form of the Lord.

Draṣṭum icchāmi — I desire to see — not curiosity, but devotional longing. Rūpam aiśvaram — form of divinity — the cosmic manifestation (viśvarūpa).

Puruṣottama — Supreme Person — Arjuna asks to see the form that corresponds to this title.
