Since I transcend the perishable and am also superior to the imperishable, therefore I am known in the world and in the Vedas as Puruṣottama.

The culminating verse that reveals the supreme identity. Kṛṣṇa is atītaḥ (transcendent to) the kṣara (perishable) and uttamaḥ (superior to) the akṣara (imperishable). He transcends both categories.
