"क्लैब्यं मा स्म गमः पार्थ नैतत्त्वय्युपपद्यते | क्षुद्रं हृदयदौर्बल्यं त्यक्त्वोत्तिष्ठ परन्तप"

"klaibyaṃ mā sma gamaḥ pārtha naitat tvayy upapadyate | kṣudraṃ hṛdaya-daurbalyaṃ tyaktvottiṣṭha parantapa"

Do not fall into impotence, oh Pārtha; this does not befit you. Abandoning this petty weakness of heart, stand up, oh chastiser of enemies

The first instruction is negative: klaibyam mā sma gamaḥ (do not go to impotence/emasculation — klaibya from klība, eunuch). It is strong language challenging the warrior’s masculinity. Na etat tvayy upapadyate (this does not befit you, is not proper to you) — action must correspond to nature.

The insult continues: kṣudra (small, mean, vile), hṛdaya-daurbalyam (weakness of heart). It is not physical cowardice but emotional. The imperative uttiṣṭha (stand up) breaks the sitting posture of surrender from Chapter 1.

Parantapa (chastiser/scorcher of enemies) is an epithet of Arjuna contrasting with his current state. Kṛṣṇa calls him by what he is, not by what he seems.
