Dvitīyopadeśaḥ (Āsana) · Verse 7

एकं पादमथो गुह्ये स्थापयित्वा तथोरुतः | जङ्घामपरया कृत्वा वृषाणोपरि तिष्ठति ||

ekaṃ pādam atho guhye sthāpayitvā tathorutaḥ | jaṅghāmaparayā kṛtvā vṛṣāṇopari tiṣṭhati ||

The technical instruction of Siddhāsana. One heel presses the perineum — the guhya, the secret place — while the other foot is placed on the opposite thigh, creating a triangle of stability.

The phrase “remaining above the testicles” (vṛṣāṇopari tiṣṭhati) describes how the body weight is distributed so that the genitals are protected between the heels, not compressed. It is a position that naturally activates mūla bandha.

This configuration seals the lower energy channels. The practitioner immediately feels how energy stops descending and begins to rise along the spine. It is the most efficient posture for prolonged meditation.
