अर्जुन उवाच | मदनुग्रहाय परमं गुह्यमध्यात्मसंज्ञितम् | यत्त्वयोक्तं वचस्तेन मोहोऽयं विगतो मम
arjuna uvāca | mad-anugrahāya paramaṃ guhyam adhyātma-saṃjñitam | yat tvayoktaṃ vacas tena moho 'yaṃ vigato mama
Arjuna said: By Your grace this my illusion has been dispelled. It has been dispelled by the words You have spoken for my benefit, that supreme mystery concerning the Self.
Arjuna begins the chapter with gratitude. Mad-anugrahāya — for my grace/benefit — the compassion of the guru is essential. Paramaṃ guhyam — the most supreme mystery — not ordinary, but confidential.
Adhyātma-saṃjñitam — concerning the ātman — spiritual knowledge. Mohaḥ ayam vigataḥ mama — this illusion of mine has been dispelled — Arjuna now sees clearly.
The illusion (moha) was considering oneself an independent agent, ignoring the Lord as the source.
