This verse emphasizes daily and constant practice as the key to achieving spiritual success. The regular consumption of nectar symbolizes the continuous nourishment of the soul through spiritual discipline. The metaphor of the lion defeating the elephant of death illustrates the yogi’s triumph over mortality through mastery of these techniques.
Vigraha-siddhi refers to perfection or mastery over the subtle body or microcosm. This term indicates the achievement of complete control over the subtle dimensions of being, allowing the practitioner to manipulate internal energies and experience expanded states of consciousness. It is one of the siddhis or spiritual powers mentioned in classical yoga texts.
In the historical context of tantric yoga, the attainment of siddhis was considered a sign of significant spiritual progress. However, texts also warn about the dangers of becoming attached to these powers rather than using them as tools for final liberation. Constant practice and the correct attitude are essential to transform these potentials into true spiritual advancements.
