Mantra Dhāraṇā · Dhāraṇā 23
स्तुतिस्तोत्रपदैश्चापि नादतत्त्वं समाविशेत् । नादान्ते परमे व्योम्नि समतामेति तत्त्वतः ॥
stuti-stotra-padaiś cāpi nādatattvaṃ samāviśet | nādānte parame vyomni samatām eti tattvataḥ ||
Also through the words of praise and prayer, one enters into the reality of sound. At the end of sound, in the supreme space, one reaches true equanimity.
Twenty-third technique. The last of the sound dhāraṇās. Stuti-stotra-padaiḥ — through the words of praise and prayer. Bhairava validates devotion as a legitimate path. Devotional singing, hymns, prayers — all can be vehicles if attended correctly.
Nādatattvaṃ samāviśet — enter into the reality of sound (nāda). Not into the meaning of words. Into the sound itself. The vibration. The nāda underlying all words. The words of praise dissolve into their own resonance.
Nādānte parame vyomni — at the end of sound, in the supreme space. Every song ends. Every prayer falls silent. In that silence, samatām eti tattvataḥ — true equanimity is reached. Not philosophical equanimity. The equanimity of one who has discovered that silence and sound are one thing.
