महासिद्धि

Mahasiddhi

siddhi

Great accomplishment, supreme attainment, the highest perfection. From mahā (great) + siddhi (perfection, attainment, magical power).

In yogic traditions, siddhis are supernatural abilities or powers that arise through advanced practice — from aṇimā (atomicity) to prāpti (omnipresence). Mahāsiddhi transcends these individual powers, representing the ultimate realization of union with the Absolute.

The mahāsiddhas of medieval India were enlightened adepts who embodied this supreme attainment outside institutional frameworks — often iconoclastic figures whose lives demonstrated that liberation is available to all, regardless of caste or convention.
