Tṛtīyopadeśaḥ (Mudrā) · Verse 13
महाबन्धो महावीर्यो महासिद्धिप्रदायकः | तत्प्रकारं प्रवक्ष्यामि शृणु त्वं कमलानने ||
mahābandho mahāvīryo mahāsiddhipradāyakaḥ | tatprakāraṃ pravakṣyāmi śṛṇu tvaṃ kamalānane ||
Mahābandha — the great lock. After the great seal comes the great closing, the lock that traps energy to direct it.
Bandha means lock, binding, blockage. In the subtle body they are specific contractions that redirect the flow of prāṇa.
“Of great vigor” like Mahāmudrā. These three great practices — seal, lock, piercing — form a progressive sequence of intensification.
