Mahāvedha

The great piercer. The third of the mudrās of Haṭha Yoga according to Haṭha Pradīpikā 3.26-27. It combines mahāmudrā and mahābandha: the yogin unites the nāḍīs and causes prāṇa to penetrate the suṣumṇā, awakening kuṇḍalinī through the union of apāna and prāṇa.
