Catalogue of the principal mudrās. Gheraṇḍa enumerates the great techniques that constitute the core of haṭha yoga.

Mahāmudrā — the great seal. Mahābandha — the great lock. Mahāvedha — the great piercing. These three form a progressive sequence.

Khecarī mudrā — the seal of the sky-wanderer — is perhaps the most important, with verses extensively devoted to it. Viparītakaraṇī — the inverted — completes the initial list.
