Tṛtīyopadeśaḥ (Mudrā) · Verse 3

योनिमुद्रा तथा शक्तिचालनी वज्रोलिका तथा | अमरोली च सहजोली ताडागी माण्डुकी तथा ||

yonimudrā tathā śakticālanī vajrolikā tathā | amarolī ca sahajolī tāḍāgī māṇḍukī tathā ||

The catalogue of mudrās continues. Yoni mudrā — seal of the source — channels energy upward. Śakticālanī — agitator of energy — awakens the kuṇḍalinī.

The techniques Vajrolī, Amarolī, and Sahajolī form a group related to the sublimation of sexual energy. They are advanced practices of tantric haṭha yoga.

Tāḍāgī — the basin — and Māṇḍukī — the frog — complete the repertoire. Twenty-five mudrās in total make up Gheraṇḍa’s complete system.
