The description of Mahāmudrā — the great seal — begins. It is the first and fundamental of the mudrās. Without it, the others lose their context.

“Of great vigor” (mahāvīrya). This practice generates physical, energetic, and mental power. It is not for the weak of will; it requires determination.

“Giver of great perfection.” Perfection here is not a minor power but the state of spiritual completeness. It is one of the most powerful techniques of haṭha yoga.
