परमात्मन्
Paramātman
conceptoParamātman (परमात्मन्) is the supreme Ātman, the absolute reality that transcends the individual ātman (jīvātman). In the Bhagavad-gītā, Paramātmā is Kṛṣṇa himself as the indweller in the hearts of all beings (BG 13.17), the silent witness who grants permission and accompanies from within. The Upaniṣads identify it with Brahman in its personal aspect: the cosmic consciousness that sustains the universe while remaining unaffected. See atman, brahman.
