मम योनिर्महद्ब्रह्म तस्मिन्गर्भं दधाम्यहम् | सम्भवः सर्वभूतानां ततो भवति भारत
mama yonir mahad brahma tasmin garbhaṃ dadhāmy aham | sambhavaḥ sarva-bhūtānāṃ tato bhavati bhārata
My womb is the great Brahman; in it I implant the seed. From there arises the birth of all beings, O Bhārata!.
Here Kṛṣṇa uses the metaphor of cosmic procreation. Mahad-brahma — the great Brahman — is prakṛti in its cosmic aspect, the womb of all manifestation.
The “seed” (garbha) is the puruṣa — consciousness — that impregnates nature, initiating the process of manifestation. Without both principles, creation cannot occur.
This is not biological reproduction but metaphysical cosmogony. The Absolute expresses through the polarity of spirit and nature.
