Mokṣa-Sannyāsa Yoga · Verse 24

यत्तु कामेप्सुना कर्म साहङ्कारेण वा पुनः | क्रियते बहुलायासं तद्राजसमुदाहृतम्

yat tu kāmepsunā karma sāhaṅkāreṇa vā punaḥ | kriyate bahulāyāsaṃ tad rājasam udāhṛtam

But the action that is performed with desire for pleasure, or with ego, with great effort — that is said to be rājasic.

Rājasic action: kāma-īpsunā — by one who desires pleasures (kāma). Sa-ahaṅkāreṇa — with ego, identification as agent.

Bahulāyāsam — with much effort, forced. It is action for result, agitated, that generates attachment and more action. Produces mixed fruits.
