Karma Yoga · Verse 18

नैव तस्य कृतेनार्थो नाकृतेनेह कश्चन | न चास्य सर्वभूतेषु कश्चिदर्थव्यपाश्रयः

naiva tasya kṛtenārtho nākṛteneha kaścana | na cāsya sarva-bhūteṣu kaścid artha-vyapāśrayaḥ

For him there is no purpose in what he does nor in what he leaves undone here, nor does he depend on any being for any purpose.

The liberated one is akṛtena — free from the duality of action/inaction. His actions are liṅga — without motivation — or liṅga — without karmic residue.

Artha-vyapāśrayaḥ — dependence on purposes — has disappeared. This does not mean inactivity but action without egocentric intentionality. The liberated one acts as nature acts: without desire, without attachment, without dependence on results.
