Pāmojjakaraṁ dhīraṁ, yoniso vicārino; viriyaṁ vahato sikkhā, ujuṁ suvidhaṁ nivatti.

The wise one who generates joy, who investigates with discernment, who sustains effort, who maintains discipline straight and well ordered.

Dhīraṁ — wise, firm. The wise one not only knows, but sustains. Yoniso vicārino — investigates from the root (yoni), does not stay on the surface.

Viriyaṁ — energy, heroic effort. In yoga it is one of the five faculties (vīrya) that must be balanced: faith, energy, attention, concentration, and wisdom.
