Uyyuñjanti satīmanto, na niketūpagā narā; Aniketā viharanti, sikhārūpadhikā munayo.
Uyyuñjanti satīmanto, na niketūpagā narā; aniketā viharanti, sikhārūpadhikā munayo.
The mindful ones strive, they are not people who dwell in homes. Without home they dwell, the munis who have abandoned chains.
Na niketūpagā — they do not give themselves to homes. Home (niketa) is a metaphor for attachment: the place where we settle, identify, defend. The wise one does not establish themself in any fixed place.
Sikhārūpadhikā — they have left chains. One who has no home not because they lost it, but because they no longer seek to establish themself.
