Brāhmaṇavagga · The Brahmin · Gāthā 387

Whoever in truth is free from thirst in the world, without desire everywhere; disconnected from all pleasures, that one is called Brahman.

Vītataṇho — with thirst exhausted, finished. Not satisfied, not repressed: exhausted. No more thirst remains.

The brāhmaṇa of the Dhammapada is not the brahmin of caste. It is one who has transcended thirst. Anapekkhako — without expectation, without desire for result.
