Tṛtīyopadeśaḥ (Mudrā) · Verse 34
खेचरीमुद्रया योगी दुःस्वप्नं च विनाशयेत् | क्षुधां तृष्णां च नाश्येत पलितं जीर्णितं तथा ||
khecarīmudrayā yogī duḥsvapnaṃ ca vināśayet | kṣudhāṃ tṛṣṇāṃ ca nāśyeta palitaṃ jīrṇitaṃ tathā ||
Additional benefits of Khecarī: elimination of nightmares, overcoming hunger and thirst, and prevention of aging.
“Bad dreams” (duḥsvapna) are disturbances of the subconscious. Khecarī calms the deep mind, leading to peaceful dreams or the absence of dreams — conscious suṣupti.
The elimination of hunger and thirst occurs because the nectar nourishes the subtle body. Advanced yogis can drastically reduce their food intake.
