Tṛtīyopadeśaḥ (Mudrā) · Verse 35

खेचरीमुद्रया योगी मृत्युं जयति निश्चितम् | न तस्य मरणं किञ्चिन्न च जरा न रोगता ||

khecarīmudrayā yogī mṛtyuṃ jayati niścitam | na tasya maraṇaṃ kiñcin na ca jarā na rogatā ||

Reiteration of the supreme benefits. Khecarī is presented as a practice leading to immortality.

The “conquest of death” (mṛtyuṃ jayati) is a recurring theme in haṭha yoga. It does not mean the physical body never dies, but that the practitioner is no longer limited by the fear of dying.

The absence of disease and old age refers to maintaining the body in optimal state. The nectar (amṛta) literally prevents cellular decay.
