बिन्दुः शिवो रजः शक्तिरित्युक्तं ज्ञानगोचरे | बिन्दुश्चन्द्रो रजः सूर्यस्तयोरैक्यं तु दुर्लभम्
binduḥ śivo rajaḥ śaktir ity uktaṃ jñāna-gocare | binduś candro rajaḥ sūryas tayor aikyaṃ tu durlabham
Bindu is Śiva and rajas is Śakti — so it is declared in the realm of knowledge.Bindu is the moon and rajas is the sun;The union of both is certainly difficult.
This verse elevates the discussion of dual bindu to the highest theological level.Binduḥ śivo rajaḥ śaktiḥ — bindu is Śiva, rajas is Śakti.This identification transforms Vajrolī’s practice from a sexual technique into a cosmic ritual: the union of the masculine and feminine principles of the universe.
Jñāna-gocare — in the realm of knowledge — indicates that this understanding belongs to esoteric knowledge (jñāna), not mechanical practice.Without this understanding, Vajrolī’s techniques are mere sexual gymnastics;with it, they are spiritual sādhana.
The cosmic correlation is expanded: binduś candraḥ rajaḥ sūryaḥ — bindu is moon, rajas is sun.All polarities of the universe are contained in this primordial duality: consciousness and energy, stability and dynamism, transcendence and immanence.
Tayor aikyaṃ durlabham — their union is difficult — is repeated for emphasis.Yoga is precisely the method (yukti) to achieve this union (yoga = union), transforming difficulty into possibility through systematic practice.
