Prakaraṇa 1 · Verse 48
कथञ्चित् साम्प्रतः शान्तिः प्राप्तं वस्तु न चान्यथा
kathañcit sāmprataḥ śāntiḥ prāptaṃ vastu na cānyathā
Somehow, peace is attained now; reality is not otherwise
Sāmprata — now, in this moment. Peace is not at the end of the path; it is the path itself when walked without the burden of identification. Reality (vastu) does not change depending on whether you recognize it or not; it is your experience of it that changes. The sun does not rise because you open the shutters; light enters because you open them. Liberation is not a transformation of reality — it is a transformation of vision.
