Prakaraṇa 1 · Verse 49
आदौ यत्र विमुक्तो ऽहम् इत्य् एवं ज्ञात्वा तिष्ठति
ādau yatra vimukto 'ham ity evaṃ jñātvā tiṣṭhati
At the beginning, having known «I am liberated», he remains thus
The verse that closes the Mumukṣu Prakaraṇa is also an instruction: having recognized the nature of consciousness, remain in that recognition. Do not seek confirmation, do not ask for signs, do not expect extraordinary experiences. The simplest truth is the hardest to maintain because the mind bores of it and seeks complexity. “I am liberated” is not an arrogant affirmation — it is the description of a fact that was always true and is now recognized. Tiṣṭhati — remain, stay, do not move from there.
